Nicole Nash Moody has been named the next superintendent of Decatur Public Schools, pending official board approval on Tuesday. Moody, currently the assistant superintendent of teaching and learning for Springfield Public Schools, is set to succeed retiring superintendent Rochelle Clark. Formal action by the board of education is scheduled for Tuesday evening at the Keil Administration Building. Moody will be introduced to the Decatur community earlier that day during a news conference at Johns Hill Magnet School. Moody’s distinguished career began as a first-grade teacher in Springfield, with previous experience including a key role with the Illinois State Superintendent and various school administrative positions.
