New Location For Resturarant at the Intersection of U.S. 51 and Southside Drive

After years of anticipation, South Shores residents in Decatur will soon welcome a new McDonalds at the intersection of U.S. 51 and Southside Drive. Construction is set to begin in June, marking the end of uncertainty since developers CARMALA acquired the site in 2019, demolished the former PNC Bank, and expanded the property. When doors open this October, it will be the seventh McDonalds owned by Gary and Andrew Birschbach in Macon County, ensuring the iconic golden arches have a foothold at every major entrance to Decatur. The project is expected to bring more dining choices and local jobs.
