Judicial Watch has initiated a lawsuit against Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker, alleging his office did not properly comply with a Freedom of Information Act request. The organization seeks records related to the governor’s appearance at a September 2025 event where he was photographed alongside anti-violence activist Kellen McMiller. Shortly after that event, McMiller was charged with murder linked to a fatal robbery and crash in Chicago. At the time of the photo, McMiller reportedly had several outstanding warrants for his arrest. The case, now filed in Sangamon County circuit court, raises questions about transparency within the governor’s office.
