Former Macon County Deputy Andrew Ziegler Has Resigned Following His Arrest

Former Macon County Deputy Andrew Ziegler has resigned following his arrest for suspected driving under the influence. Ziegler was taken into custody on December 15 after leading deputies on a chase along US Route 51 near Forsyth. Deputies chose not to pursue at high speeds due to icy conditions, but eventually found Ziegler’s vehicle stuck in a ditch. The Illinois State Police charged him with DUI, and he was cited and released. Ziegler has been on paid administrative leave since the incident. His criminal proceedings remain pending as the investigation continues in Macon County.
