The remains of U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Paul Gregg, a World War Two veteran from Arthur, Illinois, have finally been identified after nearly eight decades. Gregg was 29 years old when he went missing in December 1944 during the fierce Battle of the Bulge. For years, his fate remained a mystery, with his remains unaccounted for until they were unearthed and identified in 2024. The Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency confirmed his identification last May. He will be laid to rest in Arcola, bringing closure to his family and community after years of uncertainty.
