Mother Of Boy Killed In DUI Crash Speaks Out
One key charge filed against the man involved in a deadly drunk driving crash has been dropped, and now the victim’s family is speaking out. Prosecutors announced Hassan Woods is no longer being charged with aggravated DUI in the death of 12-year-old Kavari Drisdell. Instead, Woods is charged with the lesser aggravated DUI and not having a valid ID or insurance. Kavari’s mom has written a letter to the Decatur community and local officials, pointing out Woods’ prior DUI conviction and asking how they can say he wasn’t responsible for causing Kavari’s death.
