EIU Police Respond To Call of Armed Person On Campus

Authorities are calling a report of an armed person on the campus of Eastern Illinois University unfounded. The university received a report yesterday from a caller that there was an armed individual on campus. EIU Police issued an alert to students, employees, and community members. Officers conducted building walkthroughs and reviewed campus surveillance footage. No individual matching the report was located, and the EIU campus resumed normal operations.
