Pritzker Asks Noem To Suspect Immigration Enforcement So Children Can Celebrate Halloween
Governor Pritzker is making a plea to U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem ahead of Halloween. Reports say Pritzker sent a letter to Noem requesting that she suspend immigration enforcement operations in the Chicago area over the weekend so children can safely celebrate Halloween. He wrote that “Illinois families deserve to spend Halloween weekend without fear.” The request comes several days after ICE agents fired tear gas in the Old Irving Park neighborhood as families walked to a Halloween parade.
