Eight Detained As U of I Police Investigate Report Of Sexual Assault

University of Illinois Police are investigating a report of a sexual assault. Officers responded yesterday morning to a report of a sexual assault at 57 East Springfield Avenue in Champaign. Officers noticed several people fleeing from a vacant house scheduled for demolition. Police stopped two individuals, who reported that multiple people remained inside the house and that weapons might be present. A total of eight individuals were detained during the investigation.
