Illinois Moving To State-Based Insurance Marketplace
It’s open enrollment season, and there are some changes for Illinois residents seeking health coverage in the open market. The state is moving away from Healthcare.org to a state-based marketplace – Get Covered Illinois next year. The goal, the director of Get Covered Illinois says, is to help residents better navigate their options. The move comes as Congress struggles to extend subsidies, and insurance rates are expected to increase.
