The Texas National Guard is in Illinois. Texas National Guard troops arrived yesterday, joining the Illinois National Guard at an Army Reserve training center in Elwood. It isn’t clear when they will hit the streets of Chicago. The state of Illinois and Chicago filed a lawsuit asking a judge to block the Trump administration’s deployment of military troops to Chicago. President Trump reiterated yesterday that he would invoke the Insurrection Act to get around any legal court challenges.
