Illinois Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias has announced $28 million in library and literacy grants, using combined state funds and federal dollars from the Library Services and Technology Act. The awards include more than $18 million to library systems, more than $6.7 million in literacy grants, and nearly $50,000 to veterans’ home libraries.
