Pritzker, Johnson Waiting To See If Trump Sends National Guard To Chicago
(Chicago, IL) — State and local leaders are still waiting to see if President Trump sends the National Guard to Chicago. Governor Pritzker is “glad” that the president appears to be rethinking the idea of sending in federal troops, but he isn’t totally convinced that they won’t see military troops on the ground. Mayor Brandon Johnson said he hasn’t been in any communications with the Trump administration. The Department of Homeland Security launched an immigration crackdown this week in Chicago and across Illinois.
