Justice P. Scott Neville, Jr, Named Next Chief Justice of the Illinois Supreme Court
(Springfield, IL) — Justice P. Scott Neville, Junior, will be the next Chief Justice of the Illinois Supreme Court. Neville was selected by the state’s high court, making him the second Black Chief Justice in Illinois history. His three-year term begins on October 26th, and he will be succeeding Chief Justice Mary Jane Theis, who has led the Court since 2022. An installation ceremony will be held on October 24th in Chicago.
