Illinois To Receive Federal Education Funds
(Chicago, IL) — Illinois is reaching an agreement to receive federal education funding. State Attorney General Kwame Raoul says the agreement requires the Trump administration to release the full balance of around 219 million dollars in education funds owed to Illinois no later than October 3rd. The money supports critical programs, including after-school enrichment, workforce development, and instruction for students learning English. The deal comes after Raoul joined a multistate lawsuit in July challenging the Trump administration’s freeze on nearly seven billion dollars in education grants before the start of the school year.
