Pritzker To Speak About Trump’s Plan To Send Troops To Chicago
(Springfield, IL) — Governor Pritzker spoke yesterday about the report that President Trump is planning to send federal troops to the streets of Chicago. “The Washington Post” reported that the Pentagon has been planning a military deployment to Chicago for weeks, and that a few thousand National Guard members could arrive as soon as next month. Pritzker released a statement over the weekend saying there is no emergency that warrants the President deploying the National Guard. He accused Trump of “attempting to manufacture a crisis” and “abusing his power to distract from the pain he is causing working families.”
