Decatur, IL – August 21, 2025 — For generations, The Decatur Club has been the cornerstone of Decatur’s social and professional life, hosting everything from weddings and showers to Rotary and Kiwanis luncheons, private music events, and celebrations of life. Its recent closure leaves a significant void in the community.
The Historic Lincoln Square Theater is stepping forward to help fill that gap. With its rich history, flexible event spaces, and commitment to the community, the theater is opening its doors to accommodate as many organizations, businesses, and families as possible.
“We know how much The Decatur Club meant to this community,” said LaVelle Hunt, President of Lincoln Square Theater. “We salute them for the integrity and excellence they brought to every event, and while we can never replace them, we are committed to continuing their legacy by providing a welcoming venue where our community can gather.”
The Lincoln Square Theater is now available for:
- Weddings & Receptions
- Bridal & Baby Showers
- Celebrations of Life
- Private Music Events & Concerts
- Corporate Meetings & Conferences
- Rotary, Kiwanis, Lions, and other club luncheons
- Fundraisers, Galas & Special Celebrations
Located in the heart of downtown Decatur, the historic theater offers both grandeur and flexibility — from its large stage and concert seating to intimate areas for meetings and private gatherings.
“Our goal is simple: to keep community traditions alive,” said Vice-President Mark Scranton. “We invite local organizations, families, and businesses to bring their events to Lincoln Square Theater and allow us to serve the community in this new way.”
