MANUFACTURING DECLINE
New data from the Federal Reserve of St. Louis shows that Illinois saw a 33.5% decline in manufacturing jobs between 2000 and 2024. According to analysis by ETQ, Illinois suffered the 14th-largest drop in the nation with more than 290,000 manufacturing jobs lost during that period.
