Illinois BOE To Vote On New Exam Benchmarks
(Springfield, IL) — The Illinois State Board of Education is set to vote today on a new test scoring system. State Superintendent of Education Tony Sanders says the proficiency test scores are too high and don’t accurately measure a student’s academic progress or readiness for higher education. Each state can set its own test benchmarks to determine whether a student is on track for their grade level. If approved, the new benchmarks will be used to grade exams that students took last spring.
