Former DPS Substitute Teacher Pleads Guilty To Inappropriate Relationship With 6th Grader

(Decatur, IL) — A former substitute teacher at Decatur Public Schools is admitting to having sexual relations with a sixth-grade student. Alley Bardfield pleaded guilty yesterday to predatory criminal sexual assault. She will be sentenced on September 25th. Authorities say Bardfield was arrested in April of last year after the victim’s mother reported to police that she had an inappropriate relationship with her 11-year-old son. The boy was assigned to Bardfield’s class at Hope Academy in Decatur.
