Dangerously Hot Weather Remains In Illinois
(Springfield, IL) — Dangerously hot weather is still hitting Illinois. The National Weather Service says highs could reach the 90s in the central and southern portions of the state today, with heat index values jumping into the triple digits. An extreme heat warning or a heat advisory will be in effect until tonight. Everyone should drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
