Sangamon Co Board Chairman To Nominate Paula Crouch For Sheriff
(Sangamon Co., IL) — Sangamon County Board Chairman Andy Van Meter will nominate Paula Crouch to serve as Sangamon County Sheriff today. Crouch would be replacing former Sheriff Jack Campbell, who retired following the deadly shooting of Sonya Massey by a deputy in July. Crouch joined the Springfield Police Department in 1999, retiring in 2023 as a lieutenant.
