IDNR Removes Mountain Lion Detected On Springfield
The Illinois Department of Natural Resources is moving a mountain lion detected in Springfield. After several days of tracking the animal on the west side of Springfield, the IDNR tranquilize the mountain lion and transported it to a sanctuary specializing in the care of large felines. The decision comes after the animal strayed into residential and business areas of Springfield. Officials determined that it posed an imminent threat to residents and property and therefore needed to be removed.
