Peerless Enters into NIL Deal with Millikin Athletes
Peerless Cleaning & Restoration Services has just reached an agreement with two Millikin University student-athletes, Jordan Carson (Wrestling) and Elyce Kundsen (Woman’s Basketball), as the first paid Name, Image, and Likeness Deal within the Millikin athletics department.
The NCAA’s new ruling on NIL deals for student-athletes has been gaining major attention from athletes, businesses, and fans across the country. Even with the popularity of this new ruling, Division Three athletes have been off to a slow start. Peerless Cleaning and Restoration Services saw this as an opportunity to help support the student athletes and programs within the community.
Brad Wike, owner of Peerless, is from Decatur, loves this community, and has a real heart for investing and supporting the community. “As a former college athlete, I understand the time, effort, and commitment it takes to compete at the college level,” said Brad Wike. “We see this as a great opportunity to support our local students.”
Business Development Manager, Chris Hembrough stated, “What better way to demonstrate community support than to invest in two amazing student-athletes, who are at the same time investing in Decatur and Millikin University.”
Carson is a graduate student at Millikin, was named Team Co-Captain during the 2021-22 academic year, and earned All-Conference honors in the CCIW conference. In 2020-21 and 2021-2022, Carson also earned CCIW Academic All-Conference and National Wrestling Coaches Association Scholar All-American achievements.
Kundsen, a junior Accounting Major, was named All-American by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association and D3hoops.com, and the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Player of the Year during the 2021-22 academic year. Kundsen was also selected to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team, chosen to D3hoops.com National Team of the Week twice, and named the Basketball Writers Association’s National Player of the Week all in the same year.
“Jordan and Elyce have excelled both in the classroom and their athletic careers, making them the ideal student-athletes to represent Peerless in this deal,” said Jay Woodrum, Marketing Director at Peerless and Millikin alumnus.
Peerless Cleaning and Restoration Services has been serving Decatur and Central Illinois area for over 75 years with a continued commitment to supporting the community. Peerless is proud to partner with these student-athletes as they continue to compete for Millikin University during the 2022-23 academic year.
