Pritzker Designates the Official Rock Of Illinois
The Dolostone is the new official rock of the state of Illinois. Governor Pritzker signed a bill yesterday at the Morton Arboretum in Lisle to designate it as the state rock. The Dolostone forms the majority of Illinois’s bedrock. The Dolostone was chosen after a group of elementary school students from the Chicago suburbs created a ballot and had students across the state vote for a winner.
