Illinois DCFS Accused Of Failing To Track Safety, Medical Records
A state audit is accusing the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services of failing to comply with reforms designed to improve child safety. The report from the state’s auditor general found issues in dozens of cases in which the DCFS failed to keep records of home safety inspections and had problems tracking medical wellness check-ups and other health care exams. The audit was requested by lawmakers who passed a 2019 law aimed that introduced new requirements for child safety.
