The Macon County Conservation District Board of Trustees have announced they have appointed Jerry Culp as the new Executive Director of the Macon County Conservation District.
In a post to Facebook, the Board said: “We are very pleased that Jerry accepted the directorship,” says Board President, Karen Schneller, “His years of experience in management of natural resources combined with his vision for this District’s future causes us to be very excited for the future of the Macon County Conservation District.”
For over 25 years, Culp has helped preserve and maintain open space and natural areas. Throughout his career he has been involved with the acquisition and improvement of over 10,000 acres of land. He has a degree in Landscape Architecture from Iowa State University and a GIS certificate from Ferris State University. Jerry and his wife Jackie, along with a son Jake and daughter Maggie, are excited to join the community in Macon County. In his free time Jerry enjoys hunting, playing and coaching hockey, wood working, and boating.
