As part of Historic Preservation Week there will be an Open House this evening (May 17th) at the IT Terminal at 1065 North Van Dyke in Decatur. The terminal was added to the Illinois Most Endangered Structure list on May 5th. After that announcement, History of the Heartland was contacted by the architectural firm BLDD, who informed them on the identity of the original architect and have loaned History of the Heartland the original renderings for the open house. It is believed to be the first building designed by the predecessor of their firm in 1930. History of the Heartland had researched to find the original architect to no avail until the firm contacted us. The Open House is set for tonight from 5 until 7pm.
