The Macon County Health Department Wednesday reported 21 newly-confirmed cases of COVID-19, bringing the county total to 1,009 cases.
Meanwhile, the Illinois Department of Public Health Wednesday announced 2,128 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease in Illinois, including 27 additional confirmed deaths.
Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 238,643 cases, including 8,091 deaths, in 102 counties in Illinois. The age of cases ranges from younger than one to older than 100 years. The preliminary seven-day statewide positivity for cases as a percent of total test from August 26 – September 1 is 4.5%. As of last night, 1,596 people in Illinois were reported to be in the hospital with COVID-19. Of those, 347 patients were in the ICU and 142 patients with COVID-19 were on ventilators. Within the past 24 hours, laboratories have reported 32,751 specimens for a total of 4,119,873.
