The Illinois Department of Transportation is looking for a few good snowplow drivers this winter. I-DOT calls them “Snowbirds”, temporary workers to help out when the roads get bad says spokesperson Paul Wappel. He adds the temporary work sometimes leads to a full-time job, and is a great way to make some extra money. Applicants must have a commercial driver’s license and undergo a criminal background check.
