A new court ruling is putting a stop to transfers of inmates from County Jails to state prisons. A Logan County judge made the ruling yesterday morning. The Illinois Sheriff’s Association sued the state over the issue and Sangamon County says it has 22 transfers on hold. The ruling says that transfers will stop until Governor J.B. Pritzker’s executive order expires. The IDOC isn’t commenting publicly.
