Illinois National Guard Troops To Deploy To Africa

Some Illinois National Guard troops from Kewanee are on the list of soldiers heading to Africa. Guard commanders yesterday said 170 troops from the 106th Cavalry Regiment are being sent to the Horn of Africa to help with the mission there. The 106th is made up of soldiers from Kewanee, Pontiac, Dixon and Aurora. Some of them will be assigned to a Minnesota Guard unit that’s already on the ground.
