A man arrested early Saturday morning ended up biting a correctional officer on the arm after reaching for the gun of a deputy.
Alex Gill was pulled over around 2 a.m. Saturday in the area of North 27th Street and Route 36 for running a stop sign. Deputies detected the odor of alcohol and burnt cannabis. Gill told officers he had drank three pints and was found with a bag containing a “green, leafy substance”.
Gill’s BAC was .211, well over the legal limit of .08.
While attempting to get Gill to sign a blood test consent form, he became agitated and reached for a the gun of a deputy. He was then handcuffed and transported to Macon County Jail where he then bit a correctional officer.
Gill has been charged with, among other charges: Driving under the influence, resisting/obstructing an officer and aggravated battery to a correctional officer.
