An Illinois resident has tested positive for coronavirus. The Illinois Department of Public Health will have their findings sent to the U. S. Centers for Disease Controls Prevention Lab to confirm the results.
The patient has been isolated and public officials are now attempting to monitor those in close contact with the person.
Illinois was the first state to implement testing for this strain of coronavirus and Governor Pritzker has stated two additional labs in Central and Southern Illinois will be able to test for the virus in the near future.
