A house fire in Springfield led to the rescue of a 101-year-old tenant.
On Tuesday, firefighters responded to a report of a structure fire. When they arrived, a single-story home was on fire with smoke billowing out of the windows. A local worker who was installing drywall at a home in the neighborhood was alerted by screaming. He and the woman’s caregiver were able to help the woman escape.
The only injury reported was the man who assisted the tenant was treated for smoke inhalation.
