A man is free on bond after reportedly strangling a woman and threatening the officer who arrested him. He was released early Monday.
A 55-year-old woman called police for help and upon arrival, she ran towards the officer. She informed the officer that a 34-year-old man inside a nearby house was drinking and had strangled her earlier. The officer noted bruising to the woman’s right eye. The officer then entered the house and arrested the suspect.
While being arrested, the man repeatedly told the officer that if he was released from handcuffs, he would choke and kill the officer.
He was booked on charges of committing domestic battery while having a prior domestic battery conviction and aggravated domestic battery involving strangulation.
