A traffic stop early Wednesday morning at a McDonald’s led to police finding a loaded .45 caliber handgun.
Before the vehicle pulled into the restaurant on North Water Street, officers observed the vehicle commit a traffic violation and stopped the vehicle in the drive-thru.
The man was asked to step out of the vehicle and officers noticed a package, believed to be holding narcotics, in his pocket. Officers then searched the car and found the handgun as well as a small amount of marijuana. He was charged with possession of a weapon by a felon and unlawful use of a weapon.
