A 26-year-old from Decatur was shot through the hand during an attempted robbery.
On Wednesday, the man was walking on 16th Street when a man walked up and attempted to rob him. The victim then retaliated by taking a swing at the man, who then produced a pistol. The victim then ducked while raising his hand and ran away.
He realized soon after that he was shot and was taken to the hospital.
