Illiopolis votes down recreational marijuana sales

Illiopolis has voted to not go forward with recreational marijuana sales.  Illiopolis voted 4-1 against a proposal for sales Monday night.  A majority 3-2 vote was needed to pass the measure.  Illiopolis was considering the measure for tax revenue purposes, but Mayor Sam Rodgers did not believe the amount generated would be as lucrative as some believe.
