A crash in Montgomery County claimed the lives of two Vandalia 14-year-olds and a couple from Sullivan on Saturday. Jackolyn and William Protz were driving a Toyota van with two young girls when they collided with a pickup truck driven by a 17-year-old male.
Those in the van were pronounced dead at the scene, the pickup driver was airlifted to a trauma center with life-threatening injuries.
According to police, the pickup driver crossed the center line and struck the van head-on.
