Lamont Wright of Decatur was sentenced to 22 years in jail after being charged with aggravated criminal sexual assault and aggravated domestic battery involving strangulation.
Wright maintained his innocence. He was on trial for an ordeal in which he raped, beat and strangled his girlfriend. He shamed the defendant for lying under oath. The victim said he was a, “sick,twisted, evil being.”
