Decatur Public Schools teaching assistants have set a date they will begin a strike if an agreement is not reached.
The strike will begin October 29th after the two sides have failed to come to an agreement since April. Earlier in the month, a federal mediator was brought in for assistance to no avail. There is another meeting set for the 23rd of this month. The Decatur Federation of Teaching Assistants believe their health care costs have been priced too high for their members to reasonable afford.
