An 18-year-old from Decatur died after her car went off the road on South Main Street and into Lake Decatur. The vehicle was completely submerged when police arrived. Tabatha Pratt was removed from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The cause of death was drowning.
The Decatur Fire Department dive team was at the scene for a water rescue. The vehicle was located nearly 20 feet deep in the lake, near the dam.
