A couple from Decatur have been arrested after stealing over $1,000 worth of items from a pharmacy. The man and woman took mostly body soaps – over 100 items worth of product. Back in July a 30-year-old woman and a 43-year-old man went to the Walgreens on N. Illinois 48 and after entering the store briefly they left the store with a full cart. The manager noticed while doing inventory that did it not add up, around 75 bottles of soap were not accounted for.
On August 10th the manager working during the first incident recognized the male suspect in the store. He loaded up on school supplies and once at the checkout, he took off with a full basket.
The male suspect was taken into custody after a traffic stop early Tuesday. The woman from the first incident had already found her way into Macon County Jail for different charges.
They both face charges of retail theft; two charges for the male and one for the female.
