A Decatur man has changed a plea of not guilty to guilty. Zachary Batson originally plead not guilty to charges of attempted murder, residential burglary and home invasion. As part of his plea agreement, the charges of home invasion and attempted murder have been dropped.
Back in September of 2017, Batson and two others went to the Delta Circle in the Park City Mobile Home Community. A 52-year-old woman was shot after two people asked her for money while she was on her porch. The victim survived.
Mikayla Melton and Damon Davis were both arrested on October 16th and both will face the charges dropped from Batson – attempted murder and home invasion.
Batson’s sentencing is scheduled for November 14th.
