A Decatur man whose threats caused a lock down at two schools has been sentenced to two years in prison.
Ricardo Holloway threatened a man’s children due to an unpaid drug debt. He took a plea deal that saw three charges get dropped. He plead guilty to a single charge of making a threat to kill. Holloway texted the man who owed him nearly $500 for cocaine and when the father refused payment, he threatened to kill the man’s children who were attending MacArthur and Durfee Magnet School.
Holloway sent the father a picture of Durfee’s playground and that prompted the father to contact the police, which caused the lock down.
Holloway has since admitted to threatening the father but says he didn’t say he’d kill him or his children.
