On Monday, a man who was the ringleader of a plot to smuggle meth that was laced into coloring book pages was sentenced to an additional seven years in prison.
Prosecutors say he began the smuggling while waiting to begin an 8-year sentence after being found guilty of being an armed habitual criminal. The judge has ordered that his seven years run consecutively with his prior charge.
Damien McClure would take pieces of the coloring books and sell them in the prison. He would in-turn be paid by the inmates via a gift card system. McClure had nearly $3,000 in his account when he was reprimanded.
