A man wanted on a domestic battery warrant hid from police for several hours in a bean field while handcuffed. The 23-year-old was arrested in Maroa after running form a residence when police arrived.
The man was placed in the back of a police cruiser and he worked his handcuffs in front of him and proceeded to roll down his window and escaped while deputies took another suspect into custody.
Deputies began searching for the man who was found five hours later. He was then taken to Macon County Jail and now faces charges of resisting arrest and escape. His bail is set at $25,000.
