A woman has been accused of damaging property in Mount Zion with a flag pole, with the American flag still attached. Macon County Deputies received a call around 11 p.m. Monday night. When they arrived at the intersection of Benton Road and John Drive they found Stephanie Cohen attacking the front door of a house with the flag pole.
Cohen, apparently inebriated, ignored multiple orders from police to drop the flag pole. After ignoring orders, she then moved towards the officers while still holding the pole. She was then hit with a stun gun and placed in the back of an ambulance.
Cohen then wriggled out of her handcuffs and struck one of the paramedics multiple times. Cohen will now face charges filed by the homeowner as well as aggravated battery, battery and resisting a peace officer.
