Governor Pritzker has signed a new law that will allow the Illinois State Board of Education statutory authority to immediately suspend an educator’s teaching license. The offenses that could lead to immediate suspension would be: drug offenses, sex crimes or class X felonies.
The person’s license would be given back upon acquittal from the crime.
